The
C-Dory 22, 19 and 16 share the traditional dory
hull that makes these boats so seaworthy and
economical to run. What makes these hulls so
economical and so easy to plane with relatively
low horsepower is also what speed limits them
in rough water. In ugly conditions a C-Dory
is going to take you safely where you want to
go but at its own pace unless you're prepared
to suffer.
So you want a nautical version of the Volkswagen
camper van? That's what you're going to get
with the C-Dory 22 Cruiser. It's the most boat
you can get in 22 feet and power with the lowest
horsepower in a planning hull. It has basic,
functional amenities that are quite comfortable
and adequate if you're not looking for velour,
teak and mirrors! The C-Dory will motor along
happily in the low to mid teens getting great
fuel economy while keeping its occupants dry,
comfortable and warm (especially with the Wallas
stove/heater). With a very shallow draft and
trim/tilt on the outboard you can sneak into
small coves, estuaries and backwater areas where
the typical 22-footer would never venture. Its
light weight and low profile also make the CD22
a great boat for trailer use and for exploration
of all the great places to boat that are usually
denied to "cruisers".
The CD19 is built on the same hull as the CD22
but shortened in the mid section by 3'. In fact,
from the helm station forward the CD19 and CD22
are identical. In order to reduce weight and
cost the CD19 had been built with an open back
cabin (usually closed in with a drop curtain
or camper canvas). The cockpit can be completely
hosed out for cleaning. The CD19 carries the
same 40-gallons of fuel (in 2 20-gal tanks)
standard as the CD22 and will run along quite
nicely on a 70 to 75 horsepower 4-stroke.
The C-Dory 16 is the baby of the line. It shares
the same dory hull as it's big sisters and is
quite seaworthy but it is a small light boat
so some prudence is called for although it's
a "large" 16. The hardtop, quality
construction and high class fittings make this
boat quite unique. The 16 Cruiser is about the
smallest boat you can get into with a full v-berth
and will camp cruise two quite comfortably.
They can be outfitted to the "9's"
and are beloved by their owners. The Angler
version frees up some cockpit space and gives
up the v-berth (but still has storage forward)
for the fisherperson and is great for crabbing
and shrimping too. And with its hardtop it makes
a pretty good Northwest runabout. The Cruiser
works well with 40 to 50 hp, especially the
4-stroke engines. I've heard of the Angler's
with as little as 30 hp doing pretty well.
Fluid Marine, LLC acquired C-Dory in May 2008 and continues to build upon the success of the C-Dory design. The first C-Dory, a 22' X 7'6" "Flat Bottom" was introduced in late 1979 at the Seattle Sportsman Show. The immediate success of C-Dory's original 22' model led to the development of the line into what it is today. Fluid Marine also builds Skagit Orca and TomCat boats.
C-Dory has been taking boaters to seldom visited waterways, favorite fishing holes, dive reefs and waterside communities for over 30 years. Whether you’re seeking a cruising, fishing or diving boat, C-Dory has the right boat for you. Our “Cruiser” models offer an expanded cabin suitable for comfortable cruising, whereas our “Angler” models feature a larger aft cockpit to accommodate sportsmen and their gear. A truly unique catamaran, the “TomCat” is an outstanding offshore boat offering a stable platform for those who like to cruise, dive or fish in the deep waters without sacrificing predictable handling and speed. Our simple, strong, fast and fuel efficient C-Dory will take you to places other boats cannot. All boats come with a standard 5 year hull warranty.
Both
C-Dory 16' models are stable, roomy and will
protect you from the weather. The 16' Angler
has a smaller cabin, mounted closer to the bow.
It gives you a spacious 5' of aft deck, and
is ideal for fishing. The 16' Cruiser has a
larger cabin mounted further aft to allow a
V berth forward. And with a draft of only about
6”, you can take either 16' just about anywhere
that's wet.
Most C-Dory boats log
a lot of sea time. That's because they're simple,
strong, fast and fuel efficient, with a reputation
for reliability. And re-saleability. We build
each hull, top deck and cabin as a single unit
without mechanical fasteners, for amazing ruggedness
and durability. Our classic dory design gives
each C-Dory remarkable antiroll stability, super
straight tracking, shallow draft and a V bow
for smooth cruising or fishing. Deep reverse
chines channel water under the hull to increase
lift while reducing wake and spray. Planing
speeds can be as low as only 9-10 MPH for improved
comfort in rough waters, and handling is always
tight and responsive.

The
19' Angler uses the same hull as our 22' but
is simply 3' shorter. Inside the cabin there's
6'2" of headroom, sliding side windows and a
pilot's station with excellent allaround visibility.
Forward there's a removable chemical toilet
and a 6'3" V berth, with a large deck hatch
overhead. Two back-to-back seats provide comfortable
seating for 4 and safe harbor under the cabin
roof.

The 22’ Angler is derived from the original 22’ design that was first introduced in January 1987. The Angler, as the name implies, features a larger aft cockpit than the Cruiser to accommodate sportsmen and their gear. A practical boat, the 22’ Angler is designed and built to be seaworthy, easily maintained and affordable to operate. Although a full 22’ boat with a cabin, it is relatively light and well balanced for easy towing and invites the owner to explore waters far from home.
This boat will plane comfortably at 9-10 MPH. Economical cruise ranges from 12 to 20 MPH at well over 5 MPG. Average towing weight is about 4100 lbs with boat, motor, trailer and fuel.
Maneuverability at speed is balanced and predictable, even in heavy seas. The boat holds her course with little effort. The hull’s flatness toward the stern greatly reduces the rolling motions, making cruising in rough water much more pleasant. Fishermen will love the way the boat tracks at trolling speeds, allowing the focus to remain on the fishing. And with only 7” of draft and a thick bottom she can easily be beached for beach combing adventures.
The 22’ Angler provides a spacious 6’4” long x 5’9” wide aft cockpit that comfortably fits up to 4 people. The high sides assure safety even in rough water and provide a feeling of security for the entire family.
The cabin, with over 6’2” of headroom, provides cozy shelter. It features a forward 6’3” “V” berth that is separated from the main cabin by a privacy curtain and includes two reading list, portable toilet, and Bomar 22’ aluminum frame hutch with tinted lens. The cabinetry in the cabin is composed of fiberglass with 3/4" decraguard marine plywood doors with teak wood trim.

The most successful C-Dory model, the 22’ Cruiser, was first introduced in January 1987. It has enjoyed a steady production run. Many refinements based on customer input rather than on fashion trends, have been incorporated over the years. Materials used in the construction of the boat have been constantly upgraded, ensuring that the model keeps pace with the technology available today. A practical boat, the C-Dory 22’ is designed and built to be seaworthy, easily maintained and affordable to operate. Although a full-size cabin cruiser, it is relatively light and well balanced for easy towing and invites the owner to explore distant waters. Average towing weight is about 3500 lb. boat, motor, trailer, & fuel.
Many owners compare their C-Dory to a trusted old Volkswagen or Jeep because of its go-anywhere qualities and simple maintenance. Yet these boats are thoroughly modern, incorporating the best of proven materials and ample space for the latest electronics.
By definition a dory is a flat bottom boat, with high flaring sides. The C-Dory is a modern refinement of this classic design type. The planing hull is nearly flat at the stern and gradually becomes a “V” at the bow. Deep reverse chines channel the flow of water, holding it under the boat, increasing lift and decreasing wake and spray. Heavy plank lines along the sides contribute to the C-Dory’s classic, salty appearance. They also stiffen the hull and serve as spray knockers, making the boat pleasantly dry running. The brow of the cabin roof reduces glare in the windows and adds to the boat’s distinctive lines.
This boat will plane comfortably at as little as 9 ~ 10 MPH. Economical cruise ranges from 12 ~ 20 MPH at well over 5 MPG. (rated test performance is in measured running in a straight line, in perfect trim, on good water, real boating use will normally yield about 4.5 ~ 5 MPG average). She will top out at about 28 MPH with a Honda 75.
The 22’ Cruiser provides a spacious 4’6” aft cockpit, with plenty of elbowroom for two or three fishing buddies. The high sides assure safety even in rough water and provide a feeling of security for the entire family.
The cabin with over 6’2” of headroom provides cozy shelter. It features a comfortable dinette, galley, sleeping area & pilot’s station with excellent all-around visibility.
The dinette is located along the port side of the cabin, it has lots of storage under its seats, and it makes into a 6’2” berth. The pilots station and galley are located along the starboard side. The galley consists of a two burner alcohol stove (diesel stove/heater upgrade available) a stainless steel sink, 18 gallon water supply with a foot pump, an ice box (located under the pilots seat) and a teak dish rack that holds four plates and four glasses. The forward section of the cabin features a 6’3” “V” berth, reading light, a large deck hatch, and a chemical toilet. It is separated from the main cabin by a privacy curtain.
The interior trim is neat and utilitarian, with emphasis on easy maintenance and durability. The cabinetry is composed of fiberglass with 3/4” decragaurd marine grade plywood doors with Teak wood trim.
Cushions are made of high quality foam covered with durable ‘Sunbrella’ boat canvas. The colors coordinate with the exterior trim. All of the cushions can be removed so the interior can be cleaned.
All boats come with a standard 5 year hull warranty.

Although very similar to the classic C-Dory design, this new model features a deeper V, a little more deadrise and reverse chines to provide very smooth cruising in the open water.
Maneuverability at speed is balanced and predictable, even in heavy seas. The boat holds her course with little effort. The hull’s flatness toward the stern with reverse chines greatly reduces the rolling motions, making cruising in rough water much more pleasant. Fishermen will love the way the boat tracks at trolling speeds, allowing the focus to remain on the fishing. And with only 8” draft and a thick bottom, she can easily be beached on sand for beach combing adventures.
With over 6’4” of headroom, the cabin provides cozy shelter. It features a comfortable seating and sleeping area, and a pilot’s station with excellent all-around visibility. Our Venture models are fully lined with marine foam insulation and covered with marine vinyl.
The cabin layout is simple. On port side of the isle there is a collapsible table that levels for a bunk. A forward facing seat facing toward the table and a reversible seat on the front end of the table. On the starboard side is a full galley with helm, sink, and stove. Plenty of storage is found in the cabin. The forward section of the cabin features a 6’4” “V” double berth, two reading lights, a large deck hatch, and a chemical toilet which is separated from the main cabin by a privacy curtain.
Cushions are made of high quality foam covered with durable ‘Sunbrella’ boat canvas. The colors coordinate with the exterior trim. All of the cushions can be removed so the interior can be cleaned easily.
